Being Piano Man - Tips for Teaching Yourself to Play Piano Easily
The piano is an exquisite musical instrument that may be a bit intimidating to learn but is worth every sweat, time and money you'll spend. If you want to teach yourself to play piano easily and fast, start now. The earlier you begin, the better you'll be and the earlier you'll be able to play a favorite piece. Here's how you can start:
Decide on your piano playing.
If you want to teach yourself to play piano easily, you need to decide what kind of piano player you want to be. If you want to be a concert pianist playing Mozart or Tchaikovsky, you will have to learn how to read notes and somewhere down the line, probably take formal lessons, if only for the technique. But if you only want to learn the piano so you can accompany a singer or compose your own song, you can start with chords, which is arguably the easier way to start playing.
There are also different styles of piano playing you might want to concentrate on - classical, jazz, blues, new age, etc. You can learn one or several of these styles in the future once you're familiar with the instrument itself.
Have access to a piano.
To teach yourself to play piano easily you need access to a piano. A piano is a bit expensive, but you don't have to buy one to be able to teach yourself to play piano easily. There are many sources you can tap for free - local clubs, schools, churches, even friends and neighbors who might be willing to let you use their piano.
If you're a little shy and want to practice at home, get a portable electronic keyboard to learn to play piano easily. There are some very inexpensive ones that work as well as a Korg or a Roland. These keyboards even allow you to plug a headphone so no one else hears your playing. Just buy one with full-sized keys because the really cheap ones can have smaller-sized keys. If your fingers get used to smaller keys, you might have some trouble adjusting if you begin playing a full-sized piano in the future.
Get your lesson.
A piano lesson is never far away. There are numerous books, CDs and online lessons you can tap to help you to teach yourself to play piano easily. There are some videos and audio instructional sources you can use.
You can get free or paid lessons easily and can even access some of the most popular music to learn. Because we all learn differently, it's important that you find the lesson that you feel most comfortable with to teach yourself to play piano easily.
Have a back up.
There are times when you might get stumped on a lesson simply because you don't get it or are not using the right technique. If this happens, find a different resource you can use for reference to teach yourself to play piano easily such as a different website, book or video or just simply ask someone if you're playing the piano correctly.
Practice.
Nobody learned to play the piano practicing only when they felt like it. Even the virtuosos played the piano as often as they can. Playing this instrument requires teaching your hand and mind to remember motions and learn to associate notes with the black and white keys on the piano. Practice for at least half an hour everyday or about 4 to 5 days a week is one way to teach yourself to play piano easily.
Learning to play the piano doesn't mean you have to be born with talent nor do you have to be as young as your niece or grandchild. Anyone who has normal mental and physical abilities can teach himself to learn to play piano easily and succeed. Piano playing is as much a learned skill as it is a talent. If you can teach yourself the skill, you're halfway there.

1990s One Hit Wonders
The 1990s were a great decade of music. We saw the birth of many different bands whose legacy is still growing today. Bands like Pearl Jam, Radiohead, and Green Day are as big today as they've ever been before.
On the other side of the equation, there are some of those bands who penned a big hit, winning them a legion of fans. Unfortunately, these bands never managed to cash in on their success by following through with any more hits.
Let's take a look at some of the biggest one hit wonders of the 1990s. There's a better chance that you'll remember these bands' songs than their actual names themselves, so I'll mention both of these.
Remember the song Breakfast At Tiffany's? People went crazy over that song for months, as it sat near the top of the charts. Can you remember the name of this band?
I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't, because they never neared the success of this hit anytime after. Their name was Deep Blue Something, and they are one of the quintessential 1990s one hit wonders.
Here's another one. How about the song "The Way"? This one was released during the late 1990s, and many absolutely loved it. In fact, it still receives occasional airplay today. Unfortunately, the band was never ever to replicate the success shown in this song.
A third band to make this list of fly by night sensations is The Rembrandts. Amazingly, their song is played every single day, and many listen to it without realizing it.
Their hit song, I'll Be There For You, was so popular and so catchy that the hit TV show Friends decided to use it as their theme song. This band also faded into obscurity shortly after the success of this hit.
Who will make the one-hit wonders list of the 2000s? As the decade has just ended, we may very well be able to create this list quite soon.

Good Lighting Can Brighten Up Your Home
Although it may not be obvious, lighting can change how you feel about your home. Changing the lighting in a room can change the whole look and feel of the area. Many people do not realize just how big of an impact the lights have on how a room is perceived. A room can appear comfortable and cozy or bright and welcoming just from changing the lighting. The great thing about lighting a room is that it is the cheapest form of redecorating there is.
If your home is suffering from poor lighting, there is a chance that each room isn't seeing its full potential. With good lighting, children will be able to safely play or concentrate on studies, and the whole family will be able to enjoy quality time or hobbies well into the night without being disturbed. If the lighting in a room is poor, it can have an effect on work performance and even your overall mood.
Many homes have problems with poorly lit, dark corners. A great way to create an ambiance and bring bright, even lighting to an entire room is with recessed lighting. Recessed lighting is a clean, efficient way to supply light to an entire home without taking up space or throwing off the feel of a room. The simple design makes it easy to complement any design scheme, and recessed lighting can look great in all rooms of your home.
Not only can recessed lighting brighten up dark corners and hallways, but you can also install them over points of interest in your home, such as above the piano, a piece of artwork, or a bookshelf. Recessed lighting is also an excellent choice for task lighting. Placing these lights above work spaces, in offices, and above desks is a simple way to illuminate a focused area.
The position of this lighting style is crucial, because if they are too close together or in a single line down the center of a room can tend to look like an airport runway. If you're using recessed lamps as task lighting, be sure to place them carefully overhead, as you do not want your body hindering the effect of the light. To help with light placement an installation, it is recommended that you call an electrical contractor.
Before you begin installing lights in a new home or renovating an old one, you should contact an electrician to help with the process. Working with a professional is the easiest way to begin changing the lighting in your home. Skilled electricians will be able to install any lights, including recessed, quickly and efficiently, which can make a huge difference in the overall outcome of a house.

Plan and the risk of tendinitis
As someone who has lived three times incredibly painful tendinitis and my left arm and right arm, I thought it important for some information that helped me to happen in the past.
It 'important to understand that the piano can cause serious injuries such as carpel tunnel syndrome and tendinitis. Both diseases are known as CSR. The ups and downs, the lateral movement of the arms and fingers whenPlaying the piano for a long time, is what causes these injuries.
This is common in pianists. It is so widespread that a special clinic in Hamilton, Ontario, said the musician Clinics of Canada, dedicated to the prevention and rehabilitation of injuries musicians. Of course, their patients, other instruments such as violin and guitar, but injuries are the pianist certainly the most common.
What can be done when a pianist gets hisTendonitis or carpel tunnel syndrome? Well, certainly there are conventional methods of dealing with inflammation and pain. Unfortunately, these types of treatments such as anti-inflammatories, analgesics and physical therapy are designed to treat symptoms. Therefore, after which the pianist goes back to the piano, without completely healed lesions may occur again, and finally rather difficult to eliminate.
It is not unusual to attack tendinitisaround for very long periods of time. In my case, I once had a problem with my right arm, which lasted almost three years to improve. The problem is, of course, that as a professional I can not stop playing the piano. I can during breaks between shows, but I usually only until the month of peace in a time to take one too.
So how can these lesions healed, while still playing next? It 'important to understand that not all cases is the same, but in reality for me, I hadre-learn to play the piano properly. I realized after visiting a clinic musician I had the completely wrong approach to the piano to play. In particular, I was too close to the keyboard, I had the wrong position of the wrist, fingers the wrong place, and I did not understand the concept of leverage.
Leverage means using the body to create the entire volume on the piano. I tried to create and keep the volume through the strengthening of the keys, rather than by force of the lower legusing the whole body. So my arm trying to muscles and joints of the tribe, according to play immediately. What I finally realized with the help of the musician's medical clinic was that I created with the speed necessary to force the opposition. Once the key reaches the bottom of the natural movement that can not go further. However, I tried to force the note to be passed over without realizing it.
The right way is to write down speed drive more with his backShoulders, biceps, forearms, wrists and fingers and then when the press release reaches its lowest point. Therefore, the speed of the hammer strikes the string, the band creates. Knowing when to leave is very important in the fight to prevent accidents.
Relationship with the movement of the rear bench in piano, I had to learn to be better with an upright posture and use to generate my entire body. It 's easier to go after this with the right foot (pedal), front andthe left foot under the bench. Then, as you pivot back and forth on the bench you have more balance and leverage.
As soon as the last point I would point out, the practice is very important. I started weight training a few years ago, because I find that much more muscle helps prevent injuries. But do consult a professional when you start strength training. Just the right way to be to their advantage.

Sharing The Gift Of Music
The power of good music is undeniable. Good music can make anyone feel happier, and it can really help change someone's outlook on a bad day. There are many different ways people can share the gift of music. One of the best ways to share with the world music is by learning an instrument that truly intrigues you and mastering it.
There are many different types of music lessons to choose from. Usually people are more drawn to certain instruments over others. By going to a school of music, it is possible to select from a wide variety of different music lessons. Piano lessons are very popular and many parents attempt to get their children interested in music early on my getting them to learn the piano. However, besides the musical benefits, studies have shown that children who take piano lessons benefit in the long run. First of all, piano lessons teach children the ability to concentrate because reading a piece of music requires full attention. Strong focus is needed as a child must read a note and interpret it with a hand coordination and movement. By developing strong concentration skills early on, children will be able to focus more down the line. They will be able to apply this concentration to their schoolwork and studies demonstrate that children who take piano lessons get better grades then others.
Learning a new instrument, be it piano, guitar or drum requires dedication and hard work. When a child takes these lessons and slowly begins to master them, their levels of self-confidence can drastically increase. Beginning to understand anything that was previously a mysteriously difficult task can help raise self-esteem.
Not only will learning a new instrument help a child's confidence, it enables them to become more rounded individuals. Music is an art. Music lessons allow children to develop an appreciation for the gift and culture of the art of music.
Should your child not be interested in learning an instrument, singing lessons are another great way to share the gift of music. Regardless of whether or not you have a good voice, a trained instructor will help you manage your voice and enhance it to its full potential. Singing lessons teach breathing exercises and can teach someone how to hold a note for a long time.
Once you have learned to apply your musical talent, you can begin to create your own music to share with the world. A trained musician can apply their talents in many different forms including composing music for others to play, writing musicals, performing in rock bands or other types of musical groups.
Regardless of what style of music you choose to learn or you choose to apply your talent to, the most important thing is that you share your gift as music can truly enhance the lives of others around you. You musical talent gives you the ability to make others happy and it is a wonderful gift to share.

Which Projector Should I Rent?
LCD projectors work better for static Microsoft PowerPoint® presentations or detailed financial spreadsheets. DLP works better for full motion video.
LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display and DLP stands for Digital Light Processing.
LCD is an analog-based display technology employing three fixed panels of pixels (one panel each for the RED, GREEN, & BLUE components of an NTSC video image). LCD also delivers a somewhat sharper image than DLP at any given resolution.
LCD projectors usually produce significantly higher ANSI lumen outputs than do DLP projectors with the same wattage lamp.DLP projectors have a much higher pixel "fill factor" than LCD. DLP-based projectors generally produce a much smoother looking image compared to LCD-based projectors of similar resolution.
DLP-based projectors have a high contrast ratio and efficient use of light. Contrast ratio compares the ratio between the brightest white and the darkest black that a projector can produce. Generally, a better contrast ratio leads to better black levels and, therefore, a more realistic presentation of darker scenes in movies and TV programs.
DLP projectors tend to be more compact because they have fewer components.
All of the current 3-pound portable projectors on the market are DLP projectors. Most LCD projectors are five pounds and up. The higher lumen models are significantly heavier and larger. High lumen projectors are not considered portable.
You need to match the brightness of the projector to your audience and room size. Large rooms and audiences require high bulb strength brightness. (Projector bulb strength brightness is measured in ANSI lumens or lumens).
All projector rentals range from about 1000 up to 6000+ lumens in brightness. The higher the lumen the brighter the projector.
Up to 1000 lumens -good for low ambient light, presentations.
2000 lumens -These are the most popular units being sold and rented today. Very practical and will work with some ambient light.
3000 lumens -Much Larger unit than the1000 to 2000 lumen units. Good for audiences of less than a hundred with ambient light.
5000 lumens - For audiences of 100 or more under brighter lights
6000+ lumens - For large events like conventions, conferences and tradeshows where thousands of people need to view a presentation at the same time.
Another consideration is portability of the projector. Lower lumen units are the most portable.
As a general rule, as you increase bulb strength brightness, you reduce portability. High lumen projectors are larger and weigh more than low lumen projectors.

Calming Piano Musics for Daily Relaxation - Listening to Calming Piano Tunes Can Change Your Life
Relaxing piano songs are very pleasing and relaxing and I am sure you don't need me to tell you that.
I am personally one of the biggest lovers of relaxing and calming piano tunes. The best relaxing piano tunes I love right now most include Clair de Lune by Debussy. I find that they stimulate my inner self easily and more deeply than any other kind of music.
Perhaps I am just one of the many people who get stressed easily and need this kind of calming music to feed my soul and body.
But I do believe many of us tend to like calming music compared to the noisy rock & roll and pop music.
The Benefits of Listening to Calming Piano Music
First of all, it helps to release stress which is something inevitable in our lives. Secondly, some of the experts believe that certain songs do have the ability to help us grow as a more complete person. Thirdly, it's fun! Even if you don't play piano, listening to calming piano music gives you plenty of fun, satisfaction and enjoyment.
Where to Find Great Relaxing, Slow Piano Music
Great piano tunes are everywhere. You can search online and in the local music store. You can ask if any of your friends and family members have CD's of great piano music.
For me, I believe the best way to listen to such type of music instantly is through the Internet. We can search beautiful and relaxing tunes on iTunes and even YouTube! Plenty of great music pieces are uploaded to YouTube on a daily basis and I have found plenty of great songs and tunes on the video portal. I am sure you will find plenty of positive surprises there.
Lastly, I thank you for reading this article. I am sure relaxing music can help improve your life by removing the unwanted and harmful stresses off your mind, body and soul.

Piano Chords for Beginners 5: Learn How to Play Major and Minor Piano Chords in One Easy Lesson
In this free beginner piano lesson, learn the difference between Major and Minor chords and how to play them quickly and easily!
When you listen to popular piano music, what creates the tone or the atmosphere of the song? Why are some songs bright and cheerful, such as the Beatles' 'The Yellow Submarine' or 'When I'm Sixty Four'? And why are other songs filled with sadness and pathos, such as the Beatles' 'Yesterday' or 'The Fool on the Hill'?
Much of the difference is due to the common use of Major chords in the cheerful songs, and Minor chords in the sad songs.
Basic Major and Minor chords are just three notes played together. So it is fascinating that this dramatic difference in tone, between a Major chord and a Minor chord, is achieved by just a slight adjustment of one of the three notes in the chord!
How to Make a Minor Chord from a Major Chord
To construct a Minor chord, you take the corresponding Major chord and simply lower the middle note by one half-step or semitone.
On your piano or keyboard, the keys that are directly adjacent to one another are one half-step or one semitone apart. The adjacent note can be either black or white. So to lower a note by one half-step or semitone you simply go down to the next adjacent piano key on the left.
For example if you lower the following notes by one half-step:
-- F# becomes F,
-- A becomes Ab,
-- C becomes B, and
-- F becomes E.
Let's Look at an Example
We saw in our article in this series about how to play 'Away in a Manger', that:
-- the D Major chord is: D F# A.
To find the D Minor chord, you lower the middle note of the D Major chord by one half-step or semitone from F# to F. Therefore,
-- the D Minor chord is: D F A.
Play these two chords one after the other and hear how different their tone is!
Chords are represented by chord symbols in books of popular piano music. Here are the chord symbols for these two chords:
-- D Major chord: D
-- D Minor chord: Dm
What About All the Other Types of Chords?
If you look in a book of popular music, such as one of those in Hal Leonard's Fake Book series, you will see many other types of chords that are used in the accompaniments. These include Seventh chords, Sixth chords, Diminished chords, Augmented chords and Suspended chords.
In a similar way to the relationship between the Major and Minor chords, all of these other chord types have simple relationships with one another. It is quite easy to learn to play all of these chord types without reading complex musical scores, memorizing huge numbers of individual chords or counting up endless rows of half-steps or semitones.
Once you understand the simple key that unlocks the huge variety of piano chords, you can learn beautiful embellishment techniques for these chords. Then you can create your own unique accompaniments for your favorite style of popular music - with ease!

Art As an Allegorical Figure
Mankind has always been attracted to beauty. At no time through the long passage of history has humanity not been expressed through art. In every corner of the world, in every society, known as civilized or uncivilized, art, as an expression of that society, has flowered. We can still look with admiration at great, early Egyptian art and at the unsurpassed sculpture and architecture of classical Greece.
In Australia, anthropologists recently discovered, a long gallery of aboriginal art beneath a shaded rock shelf with depictions of the hunt, men and women and native animals. The question was how old was this undiscovered art gallery? All was revealed when one scientist noticed a now, stone like wasp's nest covering a section of art work. The once sandy, but now rock hard wasp nest was gently removed in total darkness, so as not to let light enter the covered section.
A tiny sample of the hidden area was removed and sent for carbon dating - the answer came back, the gallery was 60,000 years old. 60,000 years ago, men and women were decorating their environment! Art, in it's vast range of expressions, has always appeared at the apex of human achievement. It raises humanity, it does not destroy, it uplifts, it does not darken, its music nourishes the soul of humanity, it does not deplete, it unites mankind, it does not separate.
Art, in every form, flourishes today, more than at any other time in history. In the past, art was exclusive; today it is inclusive and is available to anyone who decides to be involved. One of art's greatest gifts is its capacity and ability to constantly give. Its resources are infinite. It holds in trust, thousands of years of the greatest artistic talent and freely offers it to all without reserve.
Just like music, with its cornerstones, like J.S Bach, who, we are told by musicologists, is the founding father of all Western music, even the most contemporary owes is origins to Bach. Bach's great music still gives and gives, even when the recipient never realizes that he is the recipient of the gift.
The history of art, in all its forms does exactly the same thing. Great pictures not only inspire an artist, but they continue to teach and instruct with lessons in composition, perspective and balance.
Every century has had and will continue to have, its "style of the day" and art, like every thing else, is voguish, with its periods of fashion, e.g., rococo, classic, neo classic, cubist, impressionist and revivalist, all available and always ready to bestow. These periods are usually seen as the birth of new ideas and as with the birth of a child, the infant, or new idea, grows and develops, until it in turn, is overtaken by a fresh, new idea. Art, therefore is a living, breathing form, constantly reborn in all its many facets
We may not always understand the art of our day, but it is well worth remembering that many of the great names, now revered as masters, were not accepted as such in their day, but were criticized, rejected and certainly unaccepted as artists in their time. The great Dutch painter, Van Gogh, sold exactly one picture, in his lifetime!
If we can imagine "art" as an allegorical figure, a curator of the world's storehouse of music, pictures, literature, sculpture etc, we would need many more than one life time to see all she has to show us! Art constantly sets new challenges for all our five senses so let us follow our allegorical guide and welcome her vast wealth.

Piano Lights - A Quick and Easy Overview
Every pianist needs a specialized piano light to shed directed light on sheet music and the piano keys. Overhead lighting is inadequate for performing needs and causes unnecessary eye strain. Review this general overview of piano lamps before you go shopping for your ideal light.
Grand Piano Lights
Grand piano lamps usually clip-on to the sheet music whereas a normal lamp would not shed enough focused light when sitting on a large Grand piano. These handy little lights are also completely portable to set up a performance venue almost anywhere. Regardless of space or circumstances, they offer light wherever you need it without carrying around a large light.
Balance Arm Piano Lights
Balance arm piano lamps have an arm much like a human arm. With three joints, a lamp cap and base, they offer countless configurations for completely directed light. They are specially designed to resist gravity no matter where the light is pointed. This gives a pianist greater range of light in a variety of performance venues.
LED Piano Lights
Modern musicians also want to go green. LED piano lamps are energy-efficient, making them an environmentally solid choice. Another benefit of using LED is the long-lasting bulbs. Traditional bulbs usually burn out unexpectedly, but LED lasts 30,000 hours or more. Pianists don't have to worry about changing light bulbs and can put more focus on their musical performance.
Desk Piano Lights
Desk piano lamps are useful in many different musical arenas. They sit on top of the piano. The areas at the base and the top of the stem are both adjustable for multiple lighting configurations. The shades are as large as 15 inches offering glare free light to a large area that includes piano music and keys. They are used in both homes and offices because of their attractive design and targeted light stream for reading and other close-up tasks.
Piano Floor Lights
Piano floor lamps are bigger and offer additional light for larger piano playing areas. Most have an adjustable arm so the performer can direct light wherever needed. They are especially ideal if you prefer that nothing touches the finish of your piano.

Choosing the Best Type of Lamp For Your Room
Choosing between a lamp and a chandelier is something to consider depending upon the room and what you are looking for; for instance are you looking to enhance just a certain area for aesthetic reason or to truly use the light for lighting purposes such as reading or playing a piano. Many people have both even in the same area of the room, the use of a chandelier can simply be to brighten an entire room either by itself or to be a center piece over a dining table; but the majority of households will have a direct lamp to be able to work closely on projects or to play musical instruments.
For entertaining a group in a formal event and playing the piano for them, in this instant you would have a very nice piano lamp to be able to focus on you music sheets and hoping that you do not miss a note; but with some quality piano lamps there is no concern for these thoughts unless your lessons have not paid off well enough. With all to be considered decorating your home with beautiful lighted lamps can truly enhance your home with beauty and elegance.
When redecorating your home or even a room can be an absolute pleasure of a terror, enjoy this and make it fun and exciting; with all of the exquisite pieces of furniture and art work available you room can be transformed from a dreary and drab look to a bright and magnificent piece of art in itself.
Paint in today's time can be the fun part of it all with all of the bright and bold colors to choose from, such as a deep red and possibly even two or three different colors in the same room, be brave when it comes to choosing your colors. And, if you need to do some test areas to see if that is really what you are looking for. And be sure to take into consideration the type of furnishings that will be in the room; you don't want a room to be too dark if everything in the room is dark cherry wood for instance.
There can be a lot of testing and experimenting to get to where you want to be with everything, even the upholstery is considered very important and if you need to have this redone you can bring in sheets of cloth to compare and match with the walls and other items in the house; and if there are a lot of antiques in a room it will have a different look as well so you would not really want to have some crazy modern art in a room that has a home older look with fantastic antique pieces all throughout.
The choices are yours but make sure that you step back periodically with an objective eye so as not to take in consideration of what it would look like to others that would be subjected to your choices; make some impressive decisions with style and finesse.

Piano Hands
In the world of pianists, teachers and students, one hears the phrase, "My, you have great piano hands."
What they mean, of course, is that your hands are shaped well for the piano.
But what is the proper shape of a hand for the piano? Are there many shapes?
The answer is, of course, there are as many hands as there are ways to play the piano.
In history, great pianists have had both large and small hands. In practical terms, a pianist should be able to stretch ten white keys to navigate the principal piano literature.
Rachmaninoff, a huge bear of a man, had giant hands that could stretch twelve white keys on the piano. Many pianists have trouble with his music for this very reason. But in contrast, there are pianists who specialize in Rachmaninoff, quite well, like Alicia de la Rocha, who has very small hands. It's all in the mind.
Josef Hoffman had such small hands that Steinway built him a special grand piano which he used for concerts. Each key was a tiny increment narrower than a regulation ¾ inch wide key. Poor Hoffman was an amazing child prodigy who had a great career but soon descended into alcoholism. The pressure at the top of the concert game was tremendous.
In terms of children, one runs across kids that have perfect hands for the piano. Long fingers, to stretch as far as possible horizontally, and general dexterity are natural elements of a "piano hand."
The "piano hand" is naturally relaxed when put on the keyboard, and does not freeze into various postures, the most comical of which I call the "bug crusher." In this ridiculous posture, the child puts two thumbs on the keys while all the other fingers drape down below the level of the keyboard.
There are many fun games we play to correct hand positions such as the "bug crusher," but the game with a quarter on the back of the hand is a good place to start.
I've seen kids who did not have piano hands play very well, if not better than some who were more "properly" endowed. The reason for this is that playing the piano is almost all in your mind. If you don't know, or see, what to play, the greatest fingers in the world cannot bring the music to life.
If you can imagine what your fingers will look like playing a certain song or passage, it's far easier to then get your fingers to bring that vision to life. Once again, it's all in the mind.
The truth is that anyone can learn the finger patterns of the piano, even if they are not anatomically suited to it. Use your brain first and then your hand.
The brain and hand have a way of finding workable solutions, individual to that person's hand alone, to a myriad of small fingering and technical problems that face the pianist in a constant barrage.
You will find yourself fascinated by the finger patterns of the piano if it is presented to you in the proper way.

Learn to Play the Guitar Like a Pro - A Background in Music Theory is a Must
The guitar is a wonderful instrument that can be made to do almost anything in the hands of a skilled musician. The guitar is also the cornerstone of popular music. No wonder almost anyone who decides to learn a musical instrument picks the guitar as his first choice.
A lot of newbie guitar players just want to be able to play popular songs. While strumming the chords to a popular tune is a sure shot way to show-off your guitar skills, it is not exactly the best way to go about learning how to play the guitar.
A foundation in music theory is a must if you want to learn how to play the guitar skillfully. Without really understanding what you are doing when you press down your fingers behind the fret, you can never realize your full potential as a musician. By learning just how to play popular songs, you will not learn the mechaincs of improvization, of writing your own songs, or providing backup rhythm in a band.
A thorough understanding of the scales and chords is a must for any guitarist. Most guitar courses just dive headfirst into learning how to play popular songs and give no idea of the chord and scale structures. By learning how scales and chords work, you can figure out chord shapes and positions on the fly, without ever having to learn where Gm should be or where F# ought to be. In essence, you will learn how to play and improvise naturally.
Therefore, if you are a newbie guitar player, my advise to you would be to make sure that you start off by learning the basics first - theory, chords, scales. It might be terribly boring, but it is also essential if you really want to learn how to play the guitar like a pro.

Shine a Light on It - Seeing What is Important in Life
In the dark of a concert hall a musician sits on a piano bench waiting for the right moment to hit the first key. She studies the keyboard, looks at the music, takes a deep breath and dives in. While she is guided by her muse, it is the light the lets her read the musical notes and see the keys that she is playing. It doesn't matter if it is a plain piano lamp, multiple piano lamps, or a solid gold piano lamp. As she is performing it is the light and the quality of the light that frees her, allows her to cover the keys and follow the notes. No doubt a beautiful lamp can be part of the ambiance and help set the tone, but it is what the lamp does that is important. The lamp shines on what is essential so the musician can better achieve their brilliance. It is like that with all aspects of life and the simple piano lamp and inspired musician provide perfect examples of some of life's best lessons.
The lamp highlights what is important to the musician at the moment, often shining so bright in the darkened room that everything else seems to fade to black. In life, the most inspired moments are often like that, the focus so precise, the areas of intention so well lit that everything else fades by comparison. Most people have moments like that, moments of such focus and intention that it is like having a spot light on the playing field, or, to extend the metaphor, a light on the music and the keys. Many people have had moments like that when confronted with some major issue at work, or encountering something they are intensely passionate about, like a child or lover. Athletes often encounter the moment when everything fades but the path to the net, or the arc of the ball, or the hurdle in front of them.
Often in moments of crisis, that kind of clarity springs up. Many people who have been in a car accident can recall how time seemed to slow down and what they needed to do to control the car was crystal clear, the color of the sky, the feel of the steering wheel, the open path on the cluttered street all suddenly seemed so clear. Our brains are capable of rapid decision making, and explicit focus. When those events occur most people feel like it was an amazing experience that can only be felt in times of crisis.
What if humans were capable of that kind of intense focus and concentration when ever they wanted it? Most people would feel incredibly alive as the dullness and vagueness that afflicts so many people was washed away. Most people feel alive after handling a crisis because they were forced to give it 100% attention. That is something all of us are capable of doing all the time with a little practice.
Focusing our attention like a beam of light on what is right in front of us can begin to bring back that sense of aliveness. Focusing the attention on the present moment helps dim the distractions around us and keeps us poised like brilliant musicians playing the music in front of us.

Home Lighting Tips For Dramatic Effect
Home lighting can greatly enhance the ambience of your surroundings. It is not only cinematographers and lighting designers who can use lighting to enhance a room. You too can enhance your environment by using the same tricks that these professionals do to make a room look more dramatic, cozy or
romantic.
If you are after a dramatic look then the key is to choose lamps that have light bulbs with a high strong beam and that can be directly focused to highlight only certain objects. Drama is created using light through contrasts so the idea is to not have too much ambient or "stray" light.
The best type of lighting to create dramatic effects is created with halogen bulbs. You can find all kinds of styles of halogen lighting online or in stores but the most versatile style will resemble an octopus with bulbs at the end of the arm. Usually these are made of bendable metal so you can angle three or more of the light sources wherever you want in the room. To create a dramatic effect, try aiming these bulbs so that they specifically highlight a display of flowers in a vase, a valued piece of freestanding art or a favorite photograph on the wall.
Another example of a very dramatic lamp is the style from the seventies that features a long wire arm that extends like a fishing pole with a globe shaped glass lampshade on the end. This is the ultimate in seventies retro right now and very much in fashion if you want to make a strong statement.
To create a cozier look you want to choose lighting that is smaller and that has large shades crouched over the bulb. This means choosing a more traditional lamp with a stem and that has a glass or paper shade. It is nice to place these types of lamps near an armchair where people spend a time reading or on top of a high piece of furniture such as a piano so that an ambient, soft glow is cast over the entire room.
Choosing lamps that have yellow or cream shades also helps add to create this cozy effect. Another good choice is a lamp with a Tiffany shade, which has colored panes of glass that spread a soft warm glow.
Creating a romantic effect with lighting can be a bit more complicated depending on what type of effect you desire. Most people want this type of lighting to be quite dim so freestanding wire lamps that are covered completely with round or cubic shaped Japanese rice paper shades can create the effect that the "lights are turned down low". The odd glowing shapes that this style of lamp have are most commonly available at Ikea and Japanese shops.
You can also buy lamps that have bulbs shaped like candlesticks that are on dimmers and that can be adjusted to the quality of light that best suits you. Lamp shades that cast a pink or rose light are said to be the most flattering to skintone.
Another rule of thumb is that the broader or more conical the lamp shade shape is, the softer and dimmer the light emanating from it will be.
